This steakhouse was billed as the “Premier Steakhouse of the South”. All I can say is that whoever attached this label had not been far enough south. We were greeted warmly and ushered to our table. The wait staff was good and attentive. Once we were seated we were informed that all items were ala-cart. We had a delicious house salad, and fresh baked bread with seasoned butter. It was great but you’d have to work at it to screw up a salad. We ordered 22oz Porterhouse, to share, to the tune of $34, baked potato with all the trimmings and asparagus with hollandaise. I don’t mind price if the quality and service are there. We ordered our steak medium well, yet they brought it out rare. They got close on the second try. However, the steak was tuff and needed to be better trimmed. I’ve eaten $15 steaks that were much better. We paid almost $6 for 8 pieces of asparagus and the same for the stuffed baked potato. Toward the end of the meal the wait staff became annoying, trying to take our plates before we were finished. The bill with tip ended up $72 with only one steak ordered. If you have money to burn and would like to be served an average steak in a mediocre environment, then the Nashville Stockyard is for you.
